2 Campy Horror Cheesefests

By RodneyHatfieldJr for Movies

I have my eye on two different cheesy campfests coming out this month. I wouldn’t usually post about them, but coming out within days of each other; I couldn't help myself. I love B movies. I think it is because of when I grew up and the video store, and the fact that horror shows on TV usually showed the bottom-of-the-barrel movies. So when it comes to movies, it is ‘upbringing’ over ‘genetics’.

Hell hath no fury like a plushy scorned. Benny Loves You is directed by and starring Karl Holt. Benny Loves You, which looks like what would happen if you put Child’s Play, Puppet Master and Demonic Toys into a blender and turned it to purée.

According to the bio, “After the accidental death of his parents, Jack must sell his family home and start a new life. Cleaning out the house, Jack trashes his family belongings including his beloved childhood stuffed animal, Benny. It’s a move that turns deadly as Benny springs to life with one goal in mind, protect Jack at all cost!”

That sounds like good stupid fun. Check out the trailer. It is on VOD.

Next on our double cheese feature: DO NOT TAP THE GLASS.

This is definitely good advice at the Aquarium of the Dead. The Asylum is solidly in the B-movie arena with its latest creature feature, which unleashes aquatic terrors inside an aquarium. Doesn’t that sound fun? Vivica A. Fox stars in the CGI-heavy monster movie. I remember when she was A list. Anyway, Glenn Miller directed this one, written by Marc Gottlieb and Michael Varrati.

Find the trailer below and look for the Aquarium of the Dead on May 21.
