Bruce Willis Stepping Away

By RodneyHatfieldJr for Movies

When one thinks horror, ctor Bruce Willis is usually not at the top of that list. But he has given us some incredible iconic horror movies. Of course, my favorite is Death Becomes Her. One of the best horror comedies of the modern age. The first thing I saw Willis was the reboot of The Twilight Zone in 1985. In the first episode called Shatterday. The episode is about Willis calling his home, only to hear himself answer. A solid doppelganger episode.

Sadly his family reported this week that Bruce Willis is “stepping away" from his career after being diagnosed with aphasia. Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of Demi Moore and Willis, shared that her father's diagnosis is impacting his cognitive abilities. “As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

Aphasia is a medical condition that robs you of the ability to communicate. It can affect your ability to speak, write and understand language, both verbal and written. It most commonly arises after a stroke or brain injury, though can also come on more gradually due to the growth of a brain tumor or a degenerative disease. The family did not say what the cause is in Willis' case.

The news comes just weeks after Bruce Willis celebrated his 67th birthday.
