Godzilla vs Kong Trailer

By RodneyHatfieldJr for Movies

For today's article, I am going to let my 12-year-old self have this one.

HOLY SWEET SWISS CHOCOLATE DONKEY BALLS. Greatest trailer ever. The first trailer for the long-awaited clash of the titans has finally arrived with Godzilla Vs. Kong promising a colossal battle between the two most popular kaiju the world has ever seen. The final film in Legendary's Monsterverse quadrilogy has been in the works for quite some time and has essentially been sitting on the shelf for several months as its release date had been changed around five times overall. But this most recent shift was March 26th rather than its originally scheduled date of May 21st, in both theaters and HBO Max on the same day.

Thankfully, the wait has not been long as Godzilla vs. Kong has finally debuted its first trailer, and you can check it out below. This is one fans had been waiting to see for quite some time, and the wait only got harder thanks to the overall sparse look at the film through a few still images and early toy releases not offset by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I have always been a Kong fan since I originally watched and cried my eyes out on NBC in 1980(That is the better version with 10 extra minutes). But Godzilla is also high on the love list for no other reason other than his huge library of movies. So who to root for? Remember Kong won in the classic 1962 version. And no, there are not 2 different endings, one for Asian and another for western markets. It’s a myth.

Godzilla vs. Kong is rated PG-13 and is described as such: "In a new world where man and monster now coexist, Monarch must lead the way to a prosperous future alongside the Titans, keeping humanity in check. However, rival factions that want to manipulate the Titans for war begin to rise under the guise of a nefarious conspiracy, threatening to wipe out all life on the planet. Meanwhile, on Skull Island, strange seismic activity draws the attention of Godzilla and Kong alike. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans--instigated by unseen forces--is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth."

Yes please, give me a double order. I already plan on being in the theater on the 26th. And then on HBO Max that evening. Shoot I may watch it a 3rd time(which is not unusual).

EDIT: After watching this about 2 dozen times, did anyone notice at the beginning at the :03-04 second mark what looks like a mech between the buildings. Is that MechaGodzilla? Will we get a 2 on 1 like the classic with King Ceasar? For those who don’t know King Ceasar is the Kaiju who looks kinda like a walking lion. So will Kong and Godzilla fight MechaGodzilla? We can hope and then all fans can be happy.
