Severe Anxiety From See For Me Trailer

With a new year, we also get a new list of movies dates coming out. The first movie to catch my attention is from IFC Midnight’s See For Me. Initially, I thought another home invasion, which is beginning to become very stale unless they can bring something new to the table. When they announced it was a blind girl home invasion my mind switched to Don’t Breathe but with a girl. The next time I heard about it, captured my attention. Admittedly someone breaking into your house is already terrifying. Now, add in the fact that you are blind and have to rely on a stranger via an app on your phone to navigate.

Enter stage right: IFC Midnight’s See For Me goes for intense suspense in its first trailer. It manages to create heavy tension in its claustrophobic and isolated atmosphere. The mechanics being used in this film look to work really well and come packaged in a way that feels fresh. I especially like how it takes place on neutral ground. No one, hero, or villain knows the layout of the mansion.

The synopsis for See For Me goes like this:

Sophie, a young blind woman, house-sitting at a secluded mansion, finds herself under invasion by thieves seeking a hidden safe. Her only means of defense: a new app called ‘See For Me’. It connects her to a volunteer across the country who helps her survive by seeing on her behalf. Sophie is connected to Kelly, an army veteran who spends her days playing first-person shooter games. Sophie is forced to learn that if she’s going to survive the night, she’ll need all the help she can get. A blind teenage girl who ends up being not so powerless after all.

This Wildling Pictures stars Skyler Davenport, Jessica Parker Kennedy, and Kim Coates. It’s directed by Randall Okita.

See For Me arrives in theaters and on Digital and VOD beginning January 7.
