THE WITCHER Monster Mash

I was surprised and satisfied with The Witcher series. A solid fantasy/horror show filled with a solid story, likable characters, and high production value. So how does Netflix celebrated Halloween and the upcoming season 2 of The Witcher? They releasing a fun promo for the series that has a take on the classic song "Monster Mash" playing over images of monster-fighting action from the show. Of course, we know that Season 2 of The Witcher is currently in production. But to keep our appetite wet, Netflix also included quick glimpses of a couple of creatures we can expect to see when the new episodes arrive sometime next year.

If you have been living under a rock or inside a storm drain and don’t know about the series, let me give you a rundown of the characters. Henry Cavill(yea Superman, took me 2 episodes to realize it) as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla, Anya Chalotra (sexy hunchback badass) as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Joey Batey(singer and comic relief) as Jaskier, MyAnna Buring(strict teacher) as Tissaia. There are loads more, but there are just too many to list.

Lucky for us, Netflix has announced the new additions to the cast for season 2. Carmel Laniado as a smart, sadistic teenager named Violet; Mecia Simson as Elven sorceress Francesca; Aisha Fabienne Ross as the sorceress Lydia; Agnes Born as Vereena, Kim Bodnia as Geralt's mentor Vesemir; Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Paul Bullion as witcher Lambert; Yasen Atour as witcher Coen; and Basil Eidenbenz as witcher Eskel, a friend from Geralt's youth. I am happy to see we will be getting a look at Geralt’s backstory. But really I would be happy with monster and sword fights. What can I say, I am easily pleased.
